Family Dollar stores in Apalachin, Newark Valley and Owego in Tioga County, as well as several in the Binghamton area and Elmira, Sayre and Towanda in Bradford County, Pa., and Montrose in Susquehanna County, Pa., all face uncertain futures after Dollar Tree announced it has purchased Family Dollar with plans to either close or rebrand all stores.
Charlotte Russe, in bankruptcy, also announced Thursday that it will probably close all its women apparel stores. Russe has retail stores in the Oakdale Mall in Johnson City and Arnot Mall in Big Flats.
