The Tioga Central School District will ask residents to vote on a $7.55 million capital project next month. Most of the project consists of infrastructure improvements, including the relocation of district offices to the high school, renovating the high school entrance to make it handicapped-accessible, four new boilers, and replacing asphalt. Superintendent Scot Taylor says 92 percent of the cost will be covered by state aid. An additional $750,000 will be used to turn the district office building into pre-kindergarten classrooms, but that is covered by a state grant. A public hearing will be held at 6pm on Wednesday, Feb. 8 before the vote on Feb. 21. If approved, Taylor expects the work to be complete by the start of school in 2018.
