Tioga Downs and the Southern Tier Harness Horsemen’s Association each donated $10,000 to the Food Bank of the Southern Tier Thursday.
The Food Bank stocks pantries in six different counties, including Tioga and Broome. They say the donations will allow them to purchase over 9,000 pounds of holiday food for needy families in the area, including 850 turkeys.
Tioga Downs will kick in an extra $6,000 to help the Food Bank’s Turkey Drive this year.

Tioga Downs and its sister track in Vernon donated over $76,000 to more than 50 charities this year, according to Racing Operations Manager Dustin Ross.
