Fresh off their job fairs last week, Tioga Downs is planning two career-building events, beginning with an event Friday for those interested in becoming security guards. New York State Security Guard Training will be held Friday from 7:30am to 4:30pm at the former Nichols Elementary School. The training costs $100, but that fee will be reimbursed after three months of employment as a security guard at Tioga Downs. Those interested in participating should contact John Mele by email at [email protected]. The next free dealer training program will begin in late April or early May. The training runs for eight weeks with the option of day or night classes. More information can be found on the Tioga Downs website.
