A Tompkins County woman is dead after being hit by a car. It happened just before 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in the area of 700 Warren Road in Lansing. Tompkins County deputies said Kelly A. Elliot, 38, of Alpine, was leaving the Borg Warner when she struck the bicyclist, Harriet Giannelis, 49, of Lansing. Giannelis was pronounced dead at Cayuga Medical Center. New York State Police, Bangs Ambulance and Lansing Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
