Towanda man charged with felony as a fugitive from justice; also resisting arrest

(Towanda, PA) – Chemung County Sheriff’s Office has arrested GEVONTA LAVELL NOWELL, 22, of Towanda, Pa., as a Fugitive From Justice, a Class D Felony offense of the New York State Criminal Procedure Law, as well as Resisting Arrest, a Class A Misdemeanor offense of the New York State Penal Law.

NOWELL was found to have an active warrant out of the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office, for the charges of Aggravated Assault. While arresting NOWELL, he attempted to flee from Chemung deputies, resisting arrest.

NOWELL was arrested on the aforementioned charges, arraigned by the Horseheads Town Court, and remanded to the Chemung County Jail awaiting extradition by Pennsylvania authorities.
