State Police say two people were injured in a crash overnight on Route 17 that destroyed nearly 20 feet of guardrail.
Troopers say 23-year-old Holly Cornell of Johnson City was drunk as she was speeding along Route 17 West around 1:30am Tuesday when she tried to take Exit 71S. Cornell lost control of her car, which rolled and destroyed the guardrail. She was left with internal injuries and a head injury.
Troopers say a passenger, 29-year-old Kelby Combs from Houston, Texas, suffered superficial injuries. Both were taken to the hospital.
Cornell was ticketed for DWI, unsafe speed and moving from a lane unsafely.
Exit 71S was still closed this morning for repairs.
