Union-Endicott High School Students Receive Scholastic Art Awards

18 different Union-Endicott High School students received regional Scholastic Art Awards in February.
Over 170,000 objects were submitted in this year’s National Scholastic Art Awards program, including 628 for the region that spans seven counties in New York State and Pennsylvania.
134 works received Scholastic Art Awards, including pieces by 18 UEHS students Carlie Amundson, Taylor Ball, Vincent Briga, Gabrielle Campanella, Kaitlyn Carroll, Brittany Cartie, Natalia Dashan, Ian Dodd, Kyle Garren, Maria Karlgut, Allison Kelley, Jonathon King, Heather Megyesi, Alden Moy, Erin Nguyen, Sarica Pedley, Natalie Sterns and Danni Williams.
In addition, Sarica Pedley won an American Visions Award for one of her jewelry pieces and Jonathon King won special recognition and a gift certificate from Dick Blick Art Materials.
The award winners had their works displayed at the Arnot Art Museum in Elmira during the month of February.
The national Scholastic Art and Writing Awards program was started in 1923.
The Arnot Art Museum has been a part of it for the last 68 years.
