State Police have released more information about a deadly crash on Interstate 88 Monday afternoon. A tractor trailer and SUV were involved in the accident which happened in Afton, on the Exit 7 on-ramp.
Troopers say 31-year old Noel Pike of Nineveh lost control of her SUV while trying to enter the highway. She ended up in the passing lane where the SUV was hit by the tractor-trailer. Pike was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck, 52-year old Gary Donovan of Johnson City, was taken to Wilson Hospital where he’s in critical condition. Two passengers in the SUV, 29-year old Rayne Pike of Nineveh and a four-year old child were also transported to Wilson Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The New York State Police continue to investigate.
