Shoppers in Athens over the weekend were able to help a local Boy Scouts of America group raise money at their annual garage sale. Venture Crew 105 hosted its 22nd annual sale, in which visitors at the former P&C Fresh building on Elmira Street were able to browse through electronics, appliances, home décor, exercise equipment, and much more. The two-day event wrapped up Sunday afternoon with a half-price sale. The sale helps the Venture Crew 105 raise money for the several trips the members take each year. The group is based in Athens and is open to both male and female members between the ages of 14 and 20. The sale saw such a great turnout that members of the Athens Township Volunteer Fire Company had to help direct traffic on Elmira Street and move vehicles safely through the parking lot. This summer the Venture Crew 105 will be traveling to several national parks in California.
