(Vestal, NY) – At approximately 1:17am Thanksgiving morning, Vestal police reponded to Clayton Avenue and Lagrange Street for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, officers found a vehicle that left the roadway and struck a fence on Clayton Avenue, according to Capt. Christopher J. Streno.
Officers discovered a passenger in the vehicle, Kadin J. Abdullah, 18, of Vestal, and a senior at Vestal HighnSchool, sustained trauma resulting from the crash and despite life-saving efforts of officers and responding EMT’s, Abdullah was pronounced deceased at the scene. Police did not identify the driver, nor say if other passengers were in the vehicle.
Vestal police school resource officers are working with the Vestal School District to ensure everyone
impacted by this tragic loss receive whatever assistance they need.
Vestal police were assisted by the New York State Police Accident Reconstruction Team and the Vestal Volunteer Emergency Squad.
