Villanova handed Syracuse its second straight loss at the Carrier Dome on Saturday.
The Wildcats won 83 – 72 behind Mallik Wayns who had 21 points for the Wildcats.
A season high crowd of 33,736, second largest in the building’s history watched Syracuse fall behind early, rallied to within 4 with 2:47 left, and then witnessed the Wildcats calmly make their shots and pull away.
Kris Joseph returned to the team from his head injury and scored a team high 23 points.
Villanova was deadly at the free throw line, going 22 for 24.They also had eleven 3 pointers.
The Orange will next play Seton Hall On Tuesday at the Dome.
