A woman suffered serious burns in a fire at her apartment on Main Street in Endicott yesterday. Firefighters say the fire started while the woman was smoking in bed while on oxygen. Crews were able to contain the flames to just her apartment, but half a dozen other apartments had to be evacuated. The Red Cross is assisting six residents from the apartment building. The Endicott Fire Department received help from the Vestal, West Corners, and Union Center departments to fight the fire.
