Wyalusing Contractor Arrested

A Wyalusing man has been charged by Athens Township Police for ten violations of the Pennsylvania Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act. 36-year-old Charles Sanders is being charged with four counts of criminal attempt to make a false statement to induce an agreement for home improvement services, three counts of criminal attempt to receive advance payment for services and failure to perform, and three counts of criminal attempt to alter an agreement without consumer consent. According to police, Sanders received advance payment for three separate contracts for home improvements at an Athens residence. He is accused of accepting the money but not performing the work. He was arraigned and released from the Bradford County jail, and has a hearing later this month.
