Man Shoots Two Men He Thought Were Turkeys

A man has been arrested after mistaking two men for turkeys and shooting them in Otsego County.
Steven Houghtaling, 54, of Canajoharie, was taken into custody Sunday afternoon.
Police say Houghtaling was hunting in the Town of Middlefield when he mistook two other hunters for turkeys and fired his shotgun at them.
A 47-year-old man was shot in the leg, chest, neck and face… His 22-year-old son was hit in the elbow and shoulder.
Both were taken to the hospital.
Houghtaling faces felony charges for reckless endangerment and assault.
