NYS Sales Tax Collection Up in Tioga, down in Broome

Local sales tax collections in New York State totaled $4.8 billion in the third quarter of 2019, an increase of 6.3 percent over the third quarter of 2018. This growth was stronger than in either of the first two quarters of the year. In Tioga County, sales tax revenues for the third quarter of this year were $6.9 million…up 5.3% for the same period last year. Total collections through September of this year are $18.7 million, also up from last year.
Broome County experienced a nearly 4% drop in the 3rd quarter of 2019.– By Michael Baldwin
