Stabbing Victim Arrested for Making a False Report

The New York State Police have arrested Jeremiah Garcia, 30, of Stamford, New York, for numerous charges including Falsely Reporting an Incident.
On March 17th, Garcia called Delaware County 911 to report that he had been stabbed by two unknown assailments outside of his residence, and that the assailants had fled the scene.
As a result of the assault, Garcia sustained minor injuries to his abdomen and was taken to Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta, where he was treated and released.
Investigation revealed that Garcia had stabbed himself, and then falsely reported the incident.
A search of the scene resulted in the recovery of a stolen handgun, as well as a small quantity of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Garcia was arrested for felony Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, and Misdemeanor of Falsely Reporting an Incident and other charges.
The defendant was arraigned in the Town of Davenport Court and remanded to the Delaware County Jail on $5,000.00 cash bail.
There is an additional outstanding bench warrant out of Suffolk County, NY, for the Defendant for Grand Larceny.
