New York State Senator James Alesi has announced that he will withdraw his lawsuit against the owners and builders of an under-construction home, where he broke his leg while trespassing.
Alesi has come under withering criticism for his action, including a New York Daily News Editorial saying Alesi is suing constituents when he should be apologizing for acting like an idiot.
Alesi said he filed the suit without regard to the anxiety that it would cause the homeowners, the builders or the community where we live.
Alesi had let himself into the home without permission using an unlocked basement door and broke his leg falling off a ladder.
The homeowners did not wish to bring a trespassing charge when the incident happened in 2008.
