The Town of Clay man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend last November will be sentenced Tuesday.
As part of a plea deal, Steven Pieper, 21, faces 23 years to life in prison.
Pieper pleaded guilty last month to a charge of murder in the death of 20-year-old Jenni-Lyn Watson.
Watson had come home on her Thanksgiving break from college when Pieper says he strangled her at her parent’s home after a conversation about their recent break up.
Watson’s body was found several days later in Clay Central Park, after an extensive search by police and volunteers.
