The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of Rick Shauger, 38, of Lansing.
Deputies responded to a 1:20AM Saturday call for a report of a man down in the roadway on East Shore Drive in Lansing.
Deputies discovered Shauger deceased at the scene.
It is alleged that Shauger was a front seat passenger of a motor vehicle when he voluntarily exited the vehicle while it was moving.
Shauger was taken to the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
At this time the investigation is ongoing.
