Effective Wednesday, the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office is restricting the use of motorized boats on Cayuga Lake within the jurisdiction of Tompkins County.
The restriction will be in place through Friday, 05/06/11.
A no wake restriction is in place until further notice.
Due to the extremely high water level and debris in the water, the lake poses a danger to boaters as well as to property and business owners along the shorelines.
This restriction will remain in effect until further notice.
Despite the fact that the lake is no longer in a flood warning, the water remains elevated and is expected to take several days to recede.
