Two people have died after a taxi van crashed in the town of Cortlandville early Thursday. The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office says the van, with 8 people in it, left the road and struck a utility pole just before 3 a.m. The driver and a passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. Three passengers were transported to Upstate Medical in Syracuse, one by air; three others were treated at Cortland Regional Medical Center. Their conditions are not known and the crash is still under investigation.
