New York State Police have revealed more information about the murder that occurred in the Town of Erwin last week.
According to police, 60-year-old Heather L. Moran died at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre just a day after her brother, 59-year-old John N Marvin II, attacked her with a frying pan inside a trailer home on Victory Highway in Erwin.
During a news conference on Thursday, Feb. 22, police said that Moran her father were sitting at the kitchen table on Tuesday, Feb. 20 when Marvin allegedly struck her in the head with the frying pan several times. The father attempted to intervene, standing up from his wheelchair, but lost his balance and fell. The suspect called 911 following the assault and waited outside for police. He was arrested without incident.
Marvin is now charged with murder in the second degree, which carries a sentence of 25 years to life in prison. He was sent to the Steuben County Jail where he is being held without bail.
