Fire investigators report that the cause of Monday’s house fire in the Town of Fenton was electrical in nature.
The fire started in the family room and was ruled accidental.
The home at 142 Crocker Hill Road was severely damaged in the fire.
Heavy flames broke through the roof, and the first floor collapsed into the basement.
The homeowner was able to evacuate without injury.
Multiple fire companies were at the scene, including Hillcrest, Port Dickinson, Chenango Bridge, Chenango and Five Mile Point.
