The Broome County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a Windsor woman for driving while intoxicated and other charges following a motor vehicle accident that occurred on State Route 79 in the Town of Windsor at 7:30pm on Monday.
JoAnn Harrison was operating a 1996 Mercury Mystique south on State Route 79 when she struck a telephone pole shearing the pole in half.
The vehicle continued in a southerly direction spinning 180 degrees before coming to rest facing north.
Harrison was not injured.
There was a male passenger in the vehicle that suffered minor facial injuries and was taken to Wilson hospital to be evaluated.
Harrison fled the scene of the accident and a passerby, who was not involved, picked her up and gave her a ride to her residence.
Upon further investigation, Harrison was located at her residence on Springsteen Road and placed under arrest.
She was released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Windsor Court at a later date.
