New England Wood Pellet LLC opened its Deposit wood pellet manufacturing plant. The facility was under construction for 18-months before its opening. The $14.5 million plant is located on the former site of Norbord Industries, which was purchased by New England Wood Pellet in 2009. The new facility employs 16 skilled workers and will provide an estimated 100 additional jobs. The largest wood pellet manufacturing facility in the northeast U.S. will also infuse the local economy with around $10-million a year in payroll, wood purchase and other expenditures.
