A car accident claimed the life of an 18-year-old male on Tuesday in the Town of Cayuta in Schuyler County.
According to the New York State Police, the one-car accident occurred on State Route 224 in Cayuta at around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
The driver was traveling west in a 2024 Ford Explorer when the vehicle went off the road while negotiating a curve and hit a tree. The car would roll over and became engulfed in flames.
The driver, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
