Voters in the Watkins Glen Central School District have rejected a proposed $35.8 million dollar Capital Improvement Project.
The project would upgrade athletic facilities, infrastructure and educational spaces at the high school, as well as security and classroom improvements at the elementary school.
The referendum failed by a 430-174 vote. If it was approved, the project would have increased taxes by over 4 percent.
