The cause of the fire on Monday, Dec. 30th at an apartment building in Corning has been ruled accidental.
According to WENY-TV, the Corning Fire Department said the fire started on the exterior of the multi-family home and was accidental in nature.
Five people, including several children, were rescued from an upstairs apartment. All five were taken to the hospital, but have since been released and are expected to make a full recovery.
Two firefighters suffered minor injuries during the fire, but have been cleared to return to full duty.
