Steuben County woman charged with attempted murder following stabbing

A Steuben County woman is in jail following a stabbing over the weekend.

According to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, 25-year-old Annika Szathmary has been charged with second degree attempted murder.

The incident occurred on Saturday morning in the Town of Pulteney.

One victim was taken to a local hospital before being transferred to a trauma center.

The Sheriff’s Office conducted three search warrants and allegedly recovered the knife used in the attack.

Szathmary has been remanded to the Steuben County Jail without bail.
