The woman behind the wheel of a Hornellsville crash that injured three New York State Department of Transportation workers Wednesday is now facing charges.
State police say 30-year-old Brooke A. Burdett of Arkport faces three counts of felony reckless endangerment, the misdemeanor of driving while ability impaired by drugs, and multiple traffic violations. She was taken to the Steuben County Jail for her arraigment.
Shortly after 11 Wednesday morning, police responded to a work zone along state Route 36 where they say Burdett’s southbound vehicle struck three road workers.
Two of the victims, 52-year-old David C. Hall and 60-year-old Brian S. Schenck were taken to St. James Hospital, while the third, 30-year-old Joseph L. Zimmerman, was airlifted to Strong MEmorial Hospital in Rochester.
All three victims sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and have since been released from the hospital.
