The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a 27-year-old Ithaca man who was allegedly found with an illegal AR-15 last week.
According to police, Emmitt C. Houston was pulled over in his Chevy pickup truck on Dryden Road in the Town of Dryden for a suspended registration.
Deputies noticed an AR-15 style rifle in the back seat of the truck when they were speaking to the driver. Police also allegedly found an illegal short-barrel shotgun, a high-capacity magazine and narcotics in the vehicle.
Houston was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second and third degrees and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.
