A multi-jurisdictional task force has arrested a subject connected to two bank robberies committed in the Ithaca area over the last several weeks. 32-year-old Chaio Slater of Ithaca has been arrested and charged with two felony counts of Robbery. Slater is alleged to have robbed the Tompkins County Trust Company in Ithaca on December 5th and the Cornell Federal Credit Union on January 17th. Slater was arraigned in the Town of Lansing Court and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail on $100,000 bail for each offense. The police agencies involved in the investigation and arrest include the Ithaca Police Department, Tompkins County Sheriff’s Department, New York State Police, Cornell University Police Department, Tompkins County District Attorney’s Office, and Federal Bureau of Investigation.
