Ithaca Police Department was called to the 100 block of Oak Avenue at 2:21 a.m. Sunday for report of an attempted robbery. Officers located the victim, who was able to escape the incident without physical injury.
An initial investigation revealed a subject wearing a mask brandished what was described as a “large machete” type knife and ran towards the victim demanding property. Officers were unable to locate the suspect at the scene or in the vicinity. The suspect was last seen fleeing on foot on Oak Avenue.
