Trooper Suspected Meth in Tompkins Woman’s Easter Egg

New York State Police at Newfield have arrested Melissa D. Armstrong, age 41 of Brooktondale, Tompkins County, after finding suspected crystal meth in an Easter egg. A state trooper patrolling Elmira Road in the Town of Ithaca stopped a vehicle with a passenger who was not wearing a seatbelt.

During the traffic stop, the trooper found an Easter egg, which contained suspected crystal meth, and a small quantity of marijuana. Armstrong was charged and later released on an appearance ticket for July 19 in the Town of Ithaca court.

Armstrong was charged with misdemeanor Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, a violation of Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, and a ticket for No Seatbelt as Passenger.
