The Chenango Valley board of education gave approval last night to go forward with a study that would look into merging Chenango Forks and Chenango Valley School Districts. The district has been considering the idea for some time. The Chenango Valley Superintendent says the board of education has always been looking for ways to find financial efficiencies throughout any process, whether it is through mergers or sharing services. With the board’s approval, the districts can apply for state funding to begin the merger study.
