A Binghamton man was sentenced Monday to 23 years in prison in connection with the killing of a Bronx man as part of a plea agreement with the District Attorney’s Office. The body of 27-year-old Daniel Martinez was found in October 2011 in a wooded area in the Town of Chenango by two hunters. 22-year-old Daniel Doherty, and 25-year-old Joseph Ross Jones of Binghamton, were both charged with second-degree murder in what was described as a drug deal gone bad. Ross-Jones was acquitted at trial in December.
