It’s been four long months but 17 cats saved from an Ithaca apartment are finally ready for adoption. After a neighbor noticed the owner of the cats had been gone for more than a week with no one checking in, officials were called to the apartment, and found cats with issues from fleas to respiratory infections and dehydration. The SPCA was caring for the cats while they waited for a resolution to the case, which came last week, when owner Kristen Inman of West Seneca Street agreed to give the cats up for adoption. Inman was given a lesser charge for having agreed to give up the cats. The cost for the SPCA to treat and house the cats for the past months has reached over $11,000.
