The Village of Nichols will soon be able to enjoy Kirby Park–for the first time since the September 2011 flood. This week the Village Board discussed the re-opening of the park and the return of the Nichols-Tioga Little League for the start of baseball season this spring. The Little League will begin practices in the park in April and opening day of Little League baseball will be the park’s official re-opening–in May. Nichols is still anticipating FEMA funds to complete the park’s bandstand and restore fencing around the basketball courts.
