Gas prices have shot up over the past week, and may continue to rise. Triple A says the national average is up to $3.51 per gallon, an increase of 17 cents in one week. Drivers in Binghamton are paying about $3.86 a gallon, up 14 cents from just a week ago. Analysts say the demand for gas and the increase in crude oil prices are to blame. Gas prices in the Owego area this week range from $3.69 to $3.89 per gallon.
