More than 35,000 SUNY employees could see their wages increase for the first time since 2011. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said the state has reached a tentative agreement with the United University Professions union. While the proposed deal promises a 2 percent wage increase in 2014 and 2015, the increases will not be in line with the step increases outlined for their pay grades. Employees will also have to pay more for their health insurance. The union members are planning to vote on the deal sometime this spring.
