An Oneonta woman has been arrested after fleeing from police earlier this month. 35-year-old Marlee Ann Rickard has been wanted by police ever since a six-month narcotics investigation by the Otsego County and Oneonta police departments. The investigation discovered that Rickard and her colleague Christopher Root were in possession and selling heroin out of their home at 6 North 7th Street in Oneonta. On February 15th, investigators performed a no-knock search at their residence. Rickard fled the scene, but during the search investigators found Root hiding in the attic. He was arrested and held in Otsego County jail without bail, due to previous felony charges. Investigators discovered that Rickard had fled to Pittsfield, Massachusetts, but returned to Oneonta sometime Saturday afternoon. Members of the Oneonta Police Department responded to her location and found her hiding in the basement. She is now facing felony charges for both conspiracy and criminal nuisance. If convicted, Rickard faces up to four years in state prison.
