The Tioga County Rural Ministry recently received a substantial grant from a local foundation. The Community Foundation of the Twin Tiers awarded the Rural Ministry a grant for just under $4,000 through its Katherine P. Kerrigan Fund. The grant is targeted for in-home services to the elderly in Tioga County, as well as enhancing the services provided to those with special needs. Similar funds in the past have been used to help pay for home fuel, medical prescriptions, and chair lifts to those in need.
