Opponents of hydrofracking continue to push for public participation in the health review the state is conducting on the procedure. Binghamton Mayor Matt Ryan was joined by other coalition members on Tuesday to announce the details of a letter which is being sent to Governor Cuomo. The letter has over 1,500 signatures from environmental and civic groups, scientists, physicians, and other citizens, requesting that the Governor put the Department of Health Review on hold. The signatures hope to allow the public to be able to participate in the review and help with certain revisions. One of the major concerns from the public is the threat of fracking worsening both health and environmental issues.
