It’s budget season, and New York State Senator Tom Libous is working with his constituents to solve any budget issues. Libous spoke with News Radio WEBO about the progress being made in Albany, now that both the Senate and the Assembly have passed their budget proposals, and the issues he would like to focus on.
Libous also spoke about changes in the minimum wage, as well as working to give businesses incentives and tax breaks, such as tax credits given for hiring veterans. He also spoke about the excitement surrounding the approval for Tioga Downs to expand with a hotel and convention center.
Libous also touched on another hot topic locally: hydrofracking. He says he supports the drilling because he doesn’t want New York to miss out on a golden opportunity.
Senator Libous says he and his colleagues are cautiously optimistic that all budget issues can be resolved by the end of the week.
