The Johnson City Police were out in full force this weekend for the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, but it wasn’t just drunk drivers they had to arrest on Sunday. A 17-year-old female from Newark Valley was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors. Along with her, 25-year-old Ronald Harrington of Chenango was charged with resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration. After Harrington received a summons at checkpoint for having no inspection, his 17-year-old passenger began screaming obscenities through the window. Officers attempted to place the girl in custody when Harrington tried to flee the vehicle. They were finally able to stop him after a brief struggle. Harrington attempted to punch officers during the arrest of the 17-year-old. Both were taken into custody and were held by Johnson City Police. They are scheduled to appear in the Johnson City village court at a later date.
