In a contested race for Village of Owego Board of Trustees, Eric Yetter, of the Rebuild Owego Party, unseated incumbent James Legursky, of the Owego Citizens Party, by a 179-to-93 tally. Yetter will represent the Second Ward for a two-year term. Two other candidates for the other Owego wards ran unopposed in the elections: Anne Lockwood of the Citizen’s Party, a former trustee, in the Third Ward, and Karl Jantz, in the First Ward. Village officials noted 51 write-in votes for Dennis Curatolo in First Ward voting. Owego’s second ward trustee vote was one of two contested elections in Tioga County, the other being the Waverly mayoral election. Dan Leary beat out former Tioga County Legislator Marty Borko and Mark Bakley as a write in, bringing in 218 votes.
