The Owego Middle School will play host this weekend to a concert to honor fallen Owego firefighter Matthew Porcari. On Sunday at 4 o’clock, Rochester-based country music singer and fellow firefighter Paul Cummings will perform a concert to benefit the Owego Fire Department. Owego Firefighter Lee Dunham, who helped arrange the concert, spoke with News Radio WEBO Thursday morning about how the fire department will benefit from the event.
Cummings also joined the morning show to speak about the opportunity to play for such a meaningful cause.
This concert is part of Cummings’ “30 Concerts in 30 Days” fire house tour. Tickets are available at the door at the Middle School for $10. The Newark Valley Fire Department will also be holding a chicken barbeque beginning at 2:30 which will last through the beginning of the concert.
