From YNN:
The Syracuse men’s basketball team cut an 11-point second-half deficit to one with 42 seconds remaining but could not get over the hump as Michigan held on to win 61-56 in the NCAA Final Four on Saturday.
C.J. Fair led the Orange (30-10) with 22 points and six rebounds and Brandon Triche had 11 points and eight assists in his final SU game before fouling out in the final minute. Michael Carter-Williams struggled with just two points and two assists before also fouling out with a little more than a minute left and James Southerland did not fare much better, only scoring five points in his final collegiate game.
Michigan will play overall No. 1 seed Louisville in the championship game on Monday.
After the game Carter-Williams, a sophomore, and Fair, a junior, said they have yet to decide whether or not they will return to Syracuse next season. Head coach Jim Boeheim reaffirmed he plans to be back for his 38th season at the helm of his alma mater.
