Governor Cuomo is trying the change voting regulations to encourage more participation from everyone in New York, and now that includes teens as young as 16. Cuomo is putting out election reforms that include getting teens to “preregister” to vote. The preregistration proposal would allow teens to sign up to vote at their school or local Department of Motor Vehicles office. Once teens turn 18, their information would be verified and they would be automatically registered to vote. Cuomo also called for the state to redesign ballots so they are easier to read.
